Conventions

409 Conflict

Problem type https://www.getproperly.com/developers/errors/conflict

HTTP status 409
type https://www.getproperly.com/developers/errors/conflict
title Conflict
Content-Type application/problem+json

When it occurs

The request collides with existing state: for example a duplicate sourceBookingId for the account, or a webhook URL that already has a subscription.

Example

409 Conflict
{
  "type": "https://www.getproperly.com/developers/errors/conflict",
  "title": "Conflict",
  "status": 409,
  "detail": "A subscription for this URL already exists",
  "instance": "/v1/webhooks",
  "code": "conflict",
  "requestId": "aQ3fT8xW1m",
  "existingId": "sub_9WqAb2cD"
}

Handling

  • For a duplicate webhook URL the problem document also carries existingId, the id of the existing subscription. Update that subscription with PATCH /v1/webhooks/{webhookId} instead of registering again.
  • For a duplicate sourceBookingId, update the existing booking rather than creating a second one.

All problem types are listed on the Errors page.
